Tap City gives students the freedom to select a range of styles and allow you to design your own program to suit your level and training needs. Master Classes (ages 13-up) & Residencies (ages 16-up)

Your Tap City experience can include:

ABOUT THE ADULT 4 - DAY RESIDENCIES:
MONDAY, JULY 3 – THURSDAY, JULY 6 (1:30 - 3:30pm & 3:30 - 5:30pm)
Center for Flamenco Arts, 4 West 43rd Street, Suite 608 (between 5th & 6th Avenues, 8th Floor)
There are two different residencies on two different levels. You can select one or both Residencies (afternoons) depending on how intensive a training program you want. Students study intensively with a choreographer for 4 days, learning and developing new work culminating with a fun and informal performance at Tap Future on Friday, July 7 at Symphony Space.
LEVELS FOR THE ADULT PROGRAM (MASTER CLASSES & RESIDENCIES)
INT/ADV: Fast moving or challenging classes for intermediate/advanced to professional tap dancers.
ADV BEG: Advanced Beginner choreography and concepts broken down and taught at a moderate pace. Recommended for students who are comfortable with flaps, shuffles, time steps, paddle & roll. Excellent choice for dancers with just a few years’ experience or older dancers who want to learn at a more relaxed pace.
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES:
1) Tap Future Concert: FRIDAY, JULY 7 (8pm)
Peter Jay Sharp Theatre Symphony Space
Tap City puts ALL of our students on stage featuring the newly minted work from the Tap City 2023 Residencies, selected works created by our students, our faculty, surprise guests and film clips and performances honoring this year’s awardees of the annual HOOFER, TAP PRESERVATION and INTERNATIONAL TAP DANCE HALL OF FAME Awards.
Tickets: General: $45, Children 17 & under/Student/Senior: $25
On Friday, July 7th, students will meet at Symphony Space to rehearse and perform the new repertory work they learned throughout the festival week. All Adult students will perform in the Tap Future concert at 8pm in the evening. Invite your family and friends to see our newly minted works.
2) Copasetic Boat Ride: WEDNESDAY, JULY 5 (boards at 6:30pm, sails at 7pm, returns at 10pm)
NOTE: In addition, and by audition only, selected students/groups will perform on a Broadway stage in the evening performance of Tap Future (Friday, July 7). Pieces must be 3 minutes or less.
