You can select one or two Residencies (morning and/or afternoon) depending on how intensive a training program you want. Students study intensively with a choreographer for 4 days, learning new or classic works of tap repertory. The Residencies culminate with a fun and informal performance by all the Tap City Residency groups at Tap Future, the All-Student Showcase on Friday, July 10 at Symphony Space. R1: Tribute to Mable Lee
Join Ali Bradley, Michelle Dorrance & Michela Marino Lerman as they restage classic Mable Lee material once performed by the Dancing Ladies. R2: The Buffalo Suite
Join Brenda Bufalino as she recreates and stages one of her signature repertory pieces originally performed by the American Tap Dance Orchestra.

R3: Join choreographer Linda Sohl-Ellison and percussionist Monti Ellison as they restage excerpts of Rhapsody In Taps' repertoire work, "Chugarump" integrating tap with visual stick percussion and bucket drumming. R4: Join Leonardo Sandoval in an exploration of Brazilian percussive dance, as he merges tap, samba, Brazilian funk and Passinho.

ABOUT FRIDAY: Adult students will have a Tap it Out rehearsal (TBA) AND a short afternoon tech rehearsal (TBA) on stage at Symphony Space. Adult students will perform in Tap Future at 8:00pm in the evening.   ABOUT TAP IT OUT! REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE:  Adult students attend all Tap it Out Rehearsals (Monday, July 6 - Thursday, July 9 (1:00pm - 2:45pm) & Friday, July 10 (TBA) if they plan on participating in the presentation of Tap it Out on Saturday, July 11th at Father Duffy Square/Times Square (three presentations at 1:00pm, 1:30pm & 2:00pm) All Tap City adult & pre-professional students will rehearse four days in preparation for TAP IT OUT! Tap City’s unique outdoor celebration of percussive feet. Imagine a chorus of 100s of tapping feet performing a cappella choreography in multiple tap dance styles creating a explosion of tones and rhythms presented out of doors and FREE to the public. Tap It Out is conceived and created by the mayor of Tap City Tony Waag and is co-directed and staged by dancer/choreographer Lynn Schwab. If you are registered in the Adult or Pre-Professional Program, you have the opportunity to participate in this event as it is included in your package! Once you enroll, you will receive detailed instructions in the Spring. Each dancer will dance on their own platform, which will be supplied by Tap City, and, will learn their part of the presentation in advance via YouTube.
