Tap City is the preeminent tap dance festival of the world and is the quintessential celebration of our collective American
heritage – virtues that are certainly evident in tap’s hometown, New York City. Each year, Tap City offers expansive adult, pre-professional and youth training programs with internationally renowned teachers and numerous diverse premiere performances & city-wide events.

Based in the Copasetic Canon, our Teacher Training Program provides the essential skills needed to teach rhythm tap. It is designed for experienced tap teachers as well as dancers who wish to become teachers. The Training gives a comprehensive approach to teaching tap technique, repertory, and performance skills, and culminates in a Certificate awarded by the ATDF.
ATDF Youth Programs for children & teens teach students about America’s own indigenous art form – Tap Dance. Our faculty shares their knowledge of the artistry & history of tap with each student in a fun, safe & supportive environment.
Tap City Youth Ensemble
Our resident youth company , the Tap City Youth Ensemble learn classic and contemporary choreography by working with master teachers. and perform in concerts, school shows, free public events, and on television.
