A special tribute to Duke Ellington will be held at the statue on Fifth Avenue and 110th Street. Presented by The Duke Ellington Center for the Arts and the American Tap Dance Foundation, the event will feature performances by The Duke Ellington Center Big Band and numerous vocalists and dancers. Co-hosted by Mercedes Ellington and Tony Waag, the celebration honored Ellington’s lasting legacy with music, dance, and theatrical flair.
