achievement presented to a tap dancer, educator and/or organization.

The second in an ongoing series of seminars dedicated to providing
tap teachers with the very best information on rhythm tap,
focusing on technique, the use of the body for sound, tone,
styles and speed, injury prevention, tap exercises, improvisation,
music for tap dance and history.
Choreography Residencies
Chelsea Dance Studios (10:00 am - 6:00 pm)
Three 9 hour residencies where students will learn ground
breaking choreography created by leading soloists and choreographers
in the field. Some participating students were chosen to perform
these new works at Tap City in July!

New Choreography Showcase

Works in progress and new tap endeavors were presented. Hosted
by Brenda Bufalino and Tony Waag. New works by tap ensembles
and soloists in an informal setting with live accompaniment
by pianist Larry Ham.

Open House, Party & Tap Jam
New York Dance Center (7:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
In honor of Gregory Hines on his birthday, the tap dance community
of New York joined us for an open house and a piece of birthday
cake, followed by a tap jam. Suggested Donation: $5 for the
evening

ATDF Fundraising Event & Performance
Private Home (6:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
An exclusive preview performance of Tap City, the annual NYC
Tap Festival held in July! This event was hosted in a
private, residential loft in the East Village of Manhattan.
All proceeds supported future ATDF programming.
