Ray Bolger and Donald O’Connor. Presented as part of
Lincoln Center’s “Reel to Real” series.
Tony Waag, Rod Ferrone and David Rider performed.

Tap & Jazz Masters Series
Tap City 2001 and Circuit Productions, Inc. hosted a number
of free events throughout the five boroughs.

Times Square. A special event for children. Students in the
program will have a chance to perform.

VIP Reception
The Duke on 42nd Street (6:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
Times Square. The Tap Preservation Award was given to Marda
Kirn and the Committee to Celebrate National Tap Dance Day,
and the Hoofer Award was given to Gregory Hines.
“Tap City”
The Duke on 42nd Street (8:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
Times Square. Progressive benefit and sponsors performance
taking the audience on a rhythmic journey through the history
of tap in a multi media production with Gregory Hines, Savion
Glover, Jimmy Slyde, Brenda Bufalino, Lynn Dally, Sarah Petronio,
Yvette Gover, Vannaver Caravan, and local percussionists and
ensembles.

Nola Rehearsal Studios (1:30 pm - 2:30 pm)
Times Square. Free lunchtime event focused on tap dance issues
hosted by Sali Ann Kriegsman and Marda Kirn. Leaders in the
tap dance field will conduct panel discussions focusing on
tap dance history, personal careers, current issues, etc...

Times Square. Festival teaching Staff perform.

“Rhythm & Romance”
Lincoln Center “Out of Doors” Festival
Outdoor concert located at the fountain plaza. Hosted by Tap
City’s Producer Tony Waag, this concert will feature
numerous local tap soloists and tap ensembles. Free and open
to the public.
