Gala proceeds support the American Tap Dance Foundation’s Youth Education Initiative:  The Gregory Hines Youth Scholarship Fund, the Tap City Youth Ensemble, ATDF’s Year Round Training Program for children and teens, and Internship Program.

An evening of contemporary choreography created by leading soloists, cutting edge ensembles, and up and coming hoofers including Chloe Arnold, Ayodele Casel, Michelle Dorrance, Barbara Duffy & Company (Michelle Dorrance, Barbara Duffy, Chikako Iwahori, Maya Jenkins, Carson Murphy, Claudia Rahardjanoto, & Lynn Schwab), Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards, DeWitt Fleming, Margaret Morrison, the New Jersey Tap Ensemble, Rhythm in Motion Bay Area Dance Company, Jason Samuels Smith, the Tap City Youth Ensemble and Tony Waag. The annual HOOFER AWARD was presented to tap dancer and choreographer Deborah Mitchell and the TAP PRESERVATION AWARD will be presented to producer Susan Goldbetter.

Tony Waag and friends took us on a rhythmic romp celebrating traditional vaudeville, comedy and classic song and dance. Performers include Terry Brock, Brenda Bufalino, Mary Giattino, Derick K. Grant, Ray Hesselink, Ann Kilkelly, Mable Lee, Parallel Exit (Ryan Kasprzak, Brent McBeth, and Derek Roland), Germaine Salsberg’s Les Femmes, Ruth Rosendaal, Courtney Runft, the Tap City Youth Ensemble, Tony Waag and Karen Callaway Williams. Tap legends Eddie Brown and Leon Collins were inducted into the INTERNATIONAL TAP DANCE HALL OF FAME.
