About the Performance:

The “Rockin’ in Rhythm” performance event will be at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre/Symphony Space, and will feature live music and guest artist performances. The concert will be professionally videotaped, photographed, and promoted in NYC.   All groups interested in registration need to APPLY for the performance opportunity by submitting choreography via DVD or youtube/web link, see below.  There are also additional performing opportunities within the show, such as:

 • each ensemble can nominate a “hot improviser” for a collective piece featuring the best improvisers from the participating ensembles.

 • “time step challenge” - dancers who wish to create and submit an original rhythm time step via video will be selected for a group piece, featuring all the BEST time steps woven into a performance piece to “Sister Sadie” by Horace Silver.

 • Specific/selected groups may have the opportunity to perform an additional historic or classic repertory piece they have in common, or work together to build a new piece to be performed in the show (be sure to tell us if you know any classic tap rep, such as B.S. Chorus, Coles Stroll, Copasetics Chair Dance, Eddie Brown BS chorus, Leon Collins material, Buster Brown’s Laura, Copasetic Soft Shoe, etc.)

Note: Show DVD will be available for sale.
